About the JH Walker Foundation
The JH Walker Foundation is a private family foundation and is a registered nonprofit organization in the state of Michigan under IRS code 501(c)(3).

The Foundation was formed to honour the memory of James Henry (Jimmy) Walker, who was taken from us in 2015 in a tragic automobile collision at the age of 4 months. The foundation’s goals are to support our community by promoting child safety and enrichment through 3 programs.

The first program is centered around child travel safety. The foundation provides targeted donations of high-quality safety certified infant and child car seats to hospitals and EMS services to help ensure that children involved in traumas can go home as soon as possible. Lindsay Walker, the foundation’s president, is a certified car seat safety technician and can help to install car seats or perform safety checks on your car seats to ensure they are installed properly.

The second program is our safe sleep initiative. The US National Institute of Child Health and Human Development (NICHD) at the US National Institutes of Health encourages parents to have their infants sleep on their backs (supine position) with no loose bedding to reduce the risk of Sudden Infant Death Syndrome (SIDS). The foundation helps spread this message through outreach, education, and by targeted donations of Sleep Sacks or other swaddle-style bedding to new babies via the NICU or maternity wards of local hospitals.

Our 3rd program is centered on child enrichment. The foundation believes in a well-rounded education that includes music and arts. As such, the foundation provides grants for children and young adults to further their arts education by attending music camps, purchasing instruments or supplies, and other such activities.

Your generous donations are gladly accepted and may be tax-deductible under IRS 501(c)(3).
